History of the URL PORTAL

On Earth by the end of the late 20th century a primitive global network called the "Internet" had evolved as a a patch work
of digital von neumann slow-speed computers loosely linked by a mix of copper and some optical fiber.     Access to the Internet
was via solid state electronic boxes called "modems" over copper wire. Users of the ancient Internet were referred to as "Surfers".
Unlike the Infobahn of today with its seamless multi-warp access to quantum computers, the early "Internet" was a real
contrast with the omni-present availability option of todays Infobahn.

Events took a nasty turn when URL Portals appeared on the Internet. These early URL Portals were crude, unpredictable
and they would launch the web user totally at random into new areas of the Internet.
This "hyper-jump" played havoc with the net and totally disoriented the user. Bandwidth distortion was a common symptom.
URL Portals were outlawed in the early 21st century until trans-dimensional stabilization logic was developed.
In 2132 the law prohibiting URL Portals was repealed in a landmark case of Yahoo versus the New York Confederation of Junkies.

Here is a replica of an early URL Portal, it is totally safe, simulating the rush of suddenly being transported at random across the net
without danger of Bandwidth distortion. However this company assumes no responsibility for any adverse consequences that may happen to the user
who enters the URL Portal.
