cnfigsisphobia - disease suffered by programmers who have to work on user interface screens
to a complex piece of hardware. While not contagious, it is physoc-somatic in that the
sufferer falls asleep at his terminal and dreams that he is stranded on a tropical island
and is being gently fanned by buxom native girls, while sipping pina coladas. The only
known cure is to take a long liquid lunch and consume vast quantities of hot mexican food.
russbordederasm - a catyleptic seizure suffered by a bored Russian, highly contagious and the only
known cure is for the victim to be strapped to a table and the victims feet to be tickled
with duck feathers until the victim is helpless with laughter.
Stendhal syndrome - psychosomatic condition in which a person experiences rapid heartbeat, confusion,
dizziness, and even fainting when exposed to artworks or phenomena of great beauty, especially
in places like Florence. First described by the 19th-century writer Stendhal after he experienced
overwhelming emotions in Florence, the syndrome involves a combination of physiological symptoms
and intense emotional or psychological reactions triggered by art and cultural experiences.
